Tributes to much-loved friends who will always be in our hearts…

Kim Dunne “Kimbo”

Today we take a moment to remember and celebrate the life of our dear friend and fellow scooterist, Kim Dunne.

Kim was a long-standing and much-loved member of the DVLC, and a familiar face at rallies up and down the country. Whether riding her T5, dancing to Northern Soul, or simply sharing a laugh around the campsite, Kim brought warmth, joy, and laughter to everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

She gave her time generously, especially at Mersea, where she volunteered for many years – always making sure others felt welcome. Her passion for scooters, her love for Manchester City, and her adventurous spirit made her truly unforgettable.

Kim was planning her next scooter adventure not long ago, full of excitement and always looking ahead. That was Kim through and through – kind, selfless, and full of love for the family she built with Pernell.

Though she was taken far too soon, her spirit lives on in all.

Please take a moment to spare a thought for the unforgettable Kim and her family — she was a beautiful soul, a true friend, and a cherished part of our scooter family.

Ride high Kim… until we meet again. 🛵💜

Rene

Rene was the best friend you could ask for. He would help and chat to anyone and everyone. He was funny and kind hearted.

When he first met someone his first words were always ” Alright Kidder” and he would always make you feel welcome and at ease.

He had four loves in this world, his kids, his scooters, Music and his beloved Man City….oh and one more…..long rubber boots!

Rene loved scootering whether riding, fixing or tinkering and trying to get every ounce of speed out of his baby frame.

He was a song writer and a fantastic Drummer, who liked to kick his drum kit on stage like Keith Moon!

He was an avid record collector of Northern Soul, The Monkees, The Beatles, Slade, Skinhead, Reggae, and Mod.

He loved Mersea. We will miss him, working his shift at the flag poles, greeting fellow scooterists, with his Hi Viz and can of beer in hand pretending to work.

RIP our ole mucker.
